See below for some info on the talented writers of Perthquake. We’re all highly involved in the industry we write about, whether it’s film, fashion, art or music. You can trust us to provide you with the most reliable and up to date info on the Perth scene.

Perthquake (Will Scott)

Hi I’m Will Perthquake. I started Perthquake a year and a half ago with fellow dj JackAttack, but then didn’t do anything for another year, so March this year I started up the real Perthquake, and it seems to be going pretty well. I’m also a dj, but that has taken a back seat at the moment, or maybe it wasn’t ever in the front seat. I’m slowly getting my head around writing but I know you will enjoy what I and all the other writers of Perthquake offer you.

Will Slade (Will Slade)

Often spotted shoulder dancing his way round the Perth night, Will Slade enjoys a wholesome diet of Disco. Will loves to share his love with people as engineer of the heady X-wray disco nights in Fremantle and invader of Jukeboxxx and Easy Tiger under the monika “Fuckingmidas”. Producer, writer and self proclaimed critic, Will is always on the hunt for more opportunities to spin around in the intoxicating haze and melodrama that keeps us up long after our bed times.

Mickey Juice (Michael Edwards)

I'm Michael Edwards aka Mickey Juice and i like to play tunes for people. I play alot of Bmore, Juke/Ghettotech, Electro, and some Dubstep, I also have a penchant for Disco. I play at Shape, and am a Resident and Organiser for The Bump at Bar Open

Cam Duff (Cam Duff)

Hi my name is Cameron and i'm a local DJ from Perth, Western Australia. I've had a passion for music ever since I was a little kid, where I accidentally chose to play the french horn in music class, thinking it was a trumpet. Since then I expanded my interest in music to play the drums, before shortly progressing to picking up the bass guitar in my last years of school where I was involved with our school jazz band. I've always had a passion for music no matter what genre it is, which has now led me to becoming a local DJ in Perth, playing at a variety of clubs with my highly influenced Deep, Tech-House & Techno sounds.

Faris (Faris Zailanni)

A great supporter and follower of the Perth Music Scene. Has a great passion for many varieties of music, from Euro-House, Minimal Tech, Progressive to even Hip-Hop. May be found lurking around at any of Perth's premier venues & clubs and he's always search for that amazing set.

James (James Lehman)

James Lehman, also known as Roxright and formerly as TKO and various other aliases has been involved with many aspects of the Perth dance music scene for well over a decade. Coming from a diverse background in djing, he has since turned his focus to production. He has teamed up with local favs Heretik and Karl Sav to collaborate on various remixes and original material and his tireless work ethic in the studio has also seen his solo productions going from strength to strength. A lover of all things music, especially electronica, and someone who is equally at home on the dancefloor as he is with his musical pursuits, James is a welcome addition to the Perthquake team to provide reviews and let the punters know what's happening around town.

Lexi (Aleksia Barron)

Aleksia is a troublesome redhead with a penchant for live music, particularly Aussie hip-hop, which she likes to go and see while wearing ‘50s swing skirts just to mess with the hoodie crowd’s heads. She has a totally sweet job that allows her to indulge in her love of live music night and day, and decided to start writing for Perthquake because Will sent her a polite email and she enjoyed his proper sense of spelling and grammar. She also likes baking, strong coffee, red wine and watching entire seasons of television shows in a single sitting. Her favourite experience being a Perthquake contributor so far has been getting Seth Sentry’s phone number, which she has thus far resisted the temptation to abuse.

Troy (Troy Mutton)

My name is Troy and I, like many writers for this fine establishment, like music a lot and like to write about it. I currently write for Perthquake, Drum Media and Pagesdigital.com focusing mainly in the electronic music fields. I play drums for a band called TV Nation that you probably haven't heard of, and like to sponge off others when it comes to DJing out. That is all.

Cale (Cale Herbert)

One morning, Cale woke up in Perth nursing a wicked hangover and a half-finished Swan Draught and realized that his time in North America was over. Armed with only a serato box, his own blog (72waystosuckatdancing) and a Perthquake account, he vowed to bring his twin obsessions of hip-hop and disco to the good people of Perth. He subsequently passed out again for several hours. As of writing, he’s currently engaged in hand-to-hand conflict with Steve Aoki. Steve is pissed because Cale doesn’t play enough electro bangers and tried to hit on his sister.

Tom (Tom Phillips)

Hi my name's Tom. I'm fairly obsessed with all things electronic music related. I'm also quite interested in plant life, and spend my days identifying the little green fuckers to make a living. My DJing career kicked off at that little night called Cassette a few years ago now and after falling off the band wagon for a while you can now find me rinsing dubstep, electro, techno, drum and bass and all sorts of crazy shit in my bedroom, or at the occassional house party. I'm also a bass player, laying down the grooves with local band TV Nation at various dives around the city.

rhainerobinson (Rhaine Robinson)

Rhaine Robinson, originally from Kalgoorlie moved to Perth when his critically acclaimed band Hepatitis Awesome signed with a local Perth label to produce their debut album. Unfortunatly disputes within the band shelved the release and wanting to continue his passion for music started producing and mixing under the alias Audageous. Today he continues that line of work playing a variety of genres through a variety of clubs around P-town preferring to play electro, indie and breakbeats whenever possible. Rhaine joins the Perthquake team by casting light over the incredibly talented music scene around Perth by bringing you the Friday afternoon mix up.

Peter (Peter Sharp)

My name is Peter Sharp and for as long as I can remember I've been a beat orientated person. Iv danced with WAAPA and numerous other companies around Perth which made moving into electronic dance music and dj'ing a natural progression. I do not have a favourite musical genre, I merely have phases of heavily researching a particular genre. When I play out I mix dubstep/breaks/dnb and occasionally drift into the deep dub/tech-house/techno realm depending on the type of event. I run an underground night with a friend in his soundproof cellar as an exclusive place to meet other people in the scene, have a mix and listen to good underground music.

Paddy (Pat Glynn)

After moving from the idyllic surrounds of Geraldton to the Big Smoke many years ago, I rapidly began to develop an all-encompassing love for the diverse world of electronic music (after having previously only been exposed to a bizarre mixture of metal, hip-hop and classical music). Although I started out focusing mainly on psy-trance, it wasn’t long before my tastes inevitably strayed across to dnb and breaks, before finally savouring the down tempo rhythms of dubstep in late ’07. It is important to note that I am not a DJ although I have touched decks before.
