Reset! @ Ambar

Force Majeure: an uncontrollable event or greater force… that changes everything.

Force Majeure is back for the double 1! And we’re kicking things off with a bang! We are extremely proud to present for the first time in Australia, direct from Italy: RESET!

Following in the footsteps of acts such as the Crookers and Bloody Beetroots, Milan’s RESET! are the latest group of Italian producers to take the dance world by storm. Whether it’s in the studio, behind the decks or promoting their own nights, RESET! have established themselves as an A-List act, regularly pulling in more than 2000 clubbers to their own infamous parties in Milan, and clocking up the air miles playing some of the biggest parties around the world. It was after playing alongside house legends Cassius at one of their own nights that RESET! were invited to rework the French duo’s anthemic “Youth, Speed, Trouble, Cigarettes”. The resulting remix, heavily supported by the likes of A-Trak and Crookers, remained on Beatport’s Indie Dance Top 10 for several weeks and featured on a Mixmag cover CD (mixed by Cassius, Justice, Busy P and D Mehdi). RESET! are about to take it to the next level with ‘Prepare to Fight’, their second EP on Cheap Thrills and their debut album set to follow later this year.

Backing up this incredible act is Perth’s newly crowned Number 1 Electro DJ – Kill Dyl. Dylan is no stranger to Force Majeure and absolutely smashed it the last time he graced the Ambar decks!

We also welcome Oli for his Force Majeure debut. Being a much loved resident at Ambar’s Japan 4, Oli knows just how to work the Ambar crowd and his warm-up for RESET! is much anticipated.

Up and comer Sean Morrison is back for another round at Force Majeure and his unique mix of jackin’ house will be a perfect opener for the night.

As usual, solid support will come from the Force Majeure crew themselves – Philly Blunt and Mono Lisa.

Bring your game face and get ready to throw down.

Act Yo Age @ Ambar

What: Act Yo Age

Where: Ambar

When: 3 December 2010

Cost/Ticket details: 20, door sales

Bastions of bounce. Assassinators of fakers. Act Yo Age are in the mother f**king building on Friday 3 December!

Hand-picked by Ajax to be represented on his ‘Sweat It Out’ record label, this duo is rapidly shaking the tree from which the apple fell, bringing forbidden sonic fruits to the hungry zombie – encapsulated wonderfully in the label’s latest mix compilation, ‘Sweat It Out Volume Two’.

Featuring sounds which take in Hou…se, Bailefunk, Bassline and Noisy Electro, Act Yo Age brings a wealth of musical experience, with fifteen years between them. See them ride fearlessly through the intergalactic night and enter the strobe zone, loving freely at each and every turn. Act Yo Age do not go quietly, nor do they travel unarmed; they pack an attitude adjustment ray gun set to decimate and aimed squarely at any demon or dancer who knows how to shake ‘n bake. These dudes live for dress ups and die for a dance competition in the toilets.

They have been hyped and tipped to be the next hot thing, but these two night freaks say they will be content with a rumble in the bassbins, a zap in the speakers and nothing less than murder on the dancefloor.

LOVE TO THE LOVERS! (That means you!).

Shonky @ Ambar

His first album ’Time Zero’ landed in 2008, This was not a first class debut. It’s a first class album, full stop. ‘Time Zero’ is ripe with a musical intelligence well beyond Shonky’s years. The first single from the album being remixed by Paul Ritch and Mathias Kaden. Shonky was last in Australia for the album launch smashing Lost Baggage and the infamous boat party in Melbourne. If you enjoy listening to this breed of electronic music, then you certainly missed out on a prodigious and eventful night supplied by the Boomtick crew.
