PUNCH @ The Cabin

This is at 174 Scarborough Beach Road Mt Hawthorn, thought I’d better make that clear first so you know where to go!

“I, of course, wanted to play real jazz. When we played pop tunes, and naturally we had to, I wanted those pops to kick! Not loud and fast, understand, but smoothly and with a definite PUNCH.” -Count Basie

“If you’d know when you’ve enough – Of the PUNCH and the claret cup – It’s time to quit the blessed stuff – When you fall down and can’t get up”
-Anon

Yes, it’s all about PUNCH this Sunday…and the beverages at The Cabin really pack one. There’s the ol’ faithful pimms & lemonade or if you’re feeling a little more adventurous then the cloudy apple will probably give you starfish tingles.

Of course you’ll be sipping on that whilst listening to the The Lucas Van Berkel Trio – these guys are ace…game, set & match!

Starts @ 12, come down early to get a spot on the astro-turf covered balcony, and soak up the sun!

See you there…

“Take things as they are. PUNCH when you have to PUNCH. Kick when you have to kick.” Bruce Lee

Coopers Sunday Green @ ECU Bowls Club

What: Sunday Coopers Green

Where: ECU Bowls Club

When: 14 March 2010

Cost/Ticket details: 15, door sales (includes a free coopers on entry and lawn bowls)

That’s right fellow bowlers/music lovers/artisans/cheap drink lovers, the time a cometh when all will be wrapped up at Coopers Sunday Green so if you haven’t been down before, the time is nigh!

And this week it’s tasty Rockabilly treats to get you in the mood.

We kick off with Cat Black… Insert Myspace Ctrl c/Ctrl v here.

“Emerging from the backstreets of North Perth, Western Australia, Cat Black concoct a sexy mélange of swampy garage blues and sweet country sounds in songs of love and dejection. Over the last couple of years, the four-piece have cultivated and refined their sound, their live shows earning the respect of local audiences, fellow musicians, and local media alike”

And then, the incredible, world travelling, all amazing…

Rocket to Memphis. Now, I was going to write a whole spiel on these guys but have decided it’s better to rip this one phrase off their Myspace. Because it made me happy, and well excited for a boogie.

“shake baby shake, till the meat comes off ya bones”

Enough said.

Speaking of Shakin’… DJ Pow is back after a short break and being sorely missed, to lay down yet another set of funky breaks to get you bursting with fruit flavour.

See you on the Green

Much Love
