There might not be a harvest to celebrate this friday but you can still enjoy the cream of the crop (yes, witty joke!) at LSF. I went last week and really enjoyed listening to some old tracks, especially when my phone informed me that several tracks were from ‘high energy gay classics,’ take a guess at who was playing that… yep JackAttack. Well I think there’s plenty more cool tunes for you to hear this friday, so get down for the cream… of the crop.
I haven’t seen a band play since December last year, so it was quite fitting that I saw a Perth based duo who reminded me what I’ve been missing. The Voltaire Twins put on a clean set with a great intro and conclusion sequence, lots of smoke, crazy electro sounds and a great feeling of anticipation. And to top it all off, the Republic was the most full I’ve seen it, with almost everyone (except me because I was sick and allegedly being a wanker of a friend
) dancing along to their songs. If you haven’t heard of the Voltaire Twins then you’ve been living under a rock, because they’ve played support for Ladytron, Walter Meego, Yelle, Digitalism, Cicada, Para One, Soulwax, and then at least another fifteen great acts including many aussie favourites. Their single D.I.L. is out now, with three cool remixes included, and I’ll tell you where to get it when I know, while you wait enjoy the streaming audio of D.I.L.!

The night itself I felt was more substance not spectacle compared recent “SixThousand and Bourgeois Bogan” events eg. Horse Meat Disco, Love Saves opening party deserve particular mention. It seems
The time is drawing near, literally changing, as we prepare ourselves for a revival of all things good and warm in our lives, and cheap export, which is not so good, but it’s only 5 a can, I can’t say no. Back to the point of the post, I’ve been super lucky to catch up with Petro the creator of Love Saves Fridays (LSF), a new night of disco mayhem and funk madness, ‘erotic, exotic, and ecstatic…’ Read the full interview after the jump and the videos will make more sense and get down to The Republic this Friday night!
Hey Petro, thanks for doing this interview…What made you decide you wanted to start LSF?
My passion for good music, good people and good times on a Friday night was not being met in the clubs, I would find more passion and ecstasy was to be found outside the clubs and at the after parties of
