Friday September 10th sees the Gold Coast heroes, the mighty Stafford Brothers make a date to smash some Jager and play some tunes for LIMELITE at Metros Freo. A volcano in Greenland almost stopped the Stafford Brothers from showing up at Limelite back in May, but this time its their heavy North American and Europe touring schedule that keeps the boys busy. Matt and Chris spend the best part of 8 months a year rolling around the globe playing at parties in Mykonos and Ibiza to L.A. and Vegas.

Its been a huge huge year for the boys, releasing tracks through Defected, building a new iphone app and website and the biggest new of all, filming a reality tv show for Foxtel. So grab a late night date and head down to welcome the guys back and get your funniest face on the idiot box.

LIMELITE HQ has been jumping out of its skin with the news this week that UK clubnight Kiss Da Funk is about to embark on its first Australian tour with LIMELITE being part of the month long party.

Kiss Da Funk is certainly the name on the lips of every major dj and producer at the moment. KDF has been an institution in its home town Leeds for near on a decade now and has been throwing some of the greatest parties ever held in the UK. From the infamous Swedish House Mafia playing at the massive warehouse party in Sheffield to Dave Guetta rocking a sell out crowd at the Acadamy @ O2 in Leeds, From its massive parties at El Divo in Ibiza to its down right dirty disco in Dublin. KDF is breaking its barriers and is heading down under for the very first time.

Spearheading the charge is Bobby Tee or Rob Tissera to his mum. Bobby Tee is currently most famous for his huge summer 2009 house collaboration with Juan Kidd ‘Come One’ which took the world’s summer dance floors by storm and raced up the Beatport charts.

Everyone from Tiesto to Carl Cox and Sebastian Ingrossso to Erick Morillo have been playing this the reinvention of the Faithless track. The track also meant that Bobby Tee joins a select group of artists to rework a Faithless record and get the seal of approval from Maxi Jazz himself.

An experienced DJs and producer he has produced a raft of bootlegs and original productions worked with the likes of Filthy Rich, Juan Kidd, Jason Herd and Ian Bland. Look out for his Luvstruck track which will be released over the next few months and his take on Dean Coleman’s take on La Roux’s “For the Kill.” Over the last few months this tune has gained huge crowd reactions and Bobby Tee has entertained many crowds for the likes of Judgement Sundays and playing alongside the likes of Steve Angello and Laidback Luke at Kissdafunk as well as taking his sound to Ibiza, Mallorca, Dubai and many dates in the UK.

Always using three decks and throwing in more accapellas than you can shake a stick at, every Bobby Tee performance is unique. A master of the crowd reaction he’s also adept in ensure the crowd is involved even before they hit the dance floor.

If KDF hitting the Fremantle Big House wasn’t enough well hold on to your horses as a high weather pattern is aiming for us with Cyclone Stafford Brothers. Back from there European and North American tour LIMELITEs favourite siblings have been added to the KDF tour so don’t be surprised for a night of complete mayhem to proceed.

Music review

Samson versus speakers

What the hell was wrong with Capitol’s sounds system on friday night? Almost every bass hit from both Sam La More and Sidney Samson was followed by a very frustrating ‘crack.’ Both of their sets were really good, some of the coolest mashups I’ve heard in ages, Sam did a good cross of Sweet Dreams and his remix of Walking on a Dream, but but the best one was Thriller with Pnau’s Baby. I do have to admit though, Michael Jackson and Eurythmics tracks are really not pushing it for me that much,

What: Sidney Samson, Stafford Brothers, Sam La More, plus guests

Where: Capitol

When: 11 September 2009

Cost/Ticket details: 25 + Bf, moshtix, door sales

Sidney Samson’s Riverside (my favourite track, I don’t care what anyway says about it being repetitive…) has gone gold in Australia. Probably an indication of the number of people willing to go and see his set at Capitol. Also got Stafford Brothers and Sam La More by his side, who are both popular artists in their own right. You’ll get some great local support too, word has it a Perthquake dj will be spinning tracks for your enjoyment!
