The Holidays – Post Paradise

Artist: The Holidays

Album: Post Paradise

Label: Liberation

Release Date: Out now!

Rating: 8/10

The Holidays‘ Post Paradise album has catchy hooks and inspiring lyrics that have given me a most enjoyable week of driving. On first listen I enjoyed the melodies, floating along in a different time and space, not particularly like anything I’ve listened to lately. Then as I got into a deeper level of listening, i.e. paying attention, I was pleasantly surprised to find some emotional teenage-angst-esque lyrics. Full review and video after the jump…

Delinquents, an Australian label, makes my Friday a good day. Sending over good music each week actually is a a really good way to ease into the weekend. This week is Broken Bones, a single from The Holidays’ forthcoming debut album Post Paradise. I really enjoy the way The Holidays work with the indie-pop sound, just like Moonlight Hours there’s an original catchy melody.

The Holidays/Jonathan Boulet

I’ve heard this song so many times on the radio and once again I never remember who it’s by, well it’s called “Moonlight Hours” and it’s by The Holidays. Now here comes the even cooler part, I have a remix of it for you by Jonathan Boulet and the accompanying video. The video is produced by Rhett Wade-Ferrell for Moop Jaw. I enjoy the slow spacey feel of the entire track. It slowly builds into a more upbeat affair, but it retains the chill out feel. Perfect track for my afternoon. Don’t ask me what the deal with the video clip is, I still don’t understand!
